Our Vision for Police Accountability and Reform
Transparency and Accountability
We are committed to fostering a safer and more just society through comprehensive police accountability and reform. Our platform is rooted in the belief that strong law enforcement is vital for a thriving community, but it must be built on trust, transparency, and a dedication to the well-being of all citizens.
Our proposals aim to ensure that our police force embodies the highest standards of professionalism and accountability while engaging with the public in an open and transparent manner.
The Return of The Peace Officer
"To Serve & Protect..."
Competitive Compensation for Police Officers
To attract the best candidates to serve our community, we advocate for increased pay for police officers.
By offering competitive salaries, we can attract well-qualified individuals with a genuine commitment to public service, enhancing the quality and diversity of our law enforcement.
Enhancing Accountability: Regular Polygraph Tests for Officers
To ensure a higher standard of accountability among law enforcement officers, we advocate for the implementation of regular polygraph tests.
These tests will address key questions regarding officers’ involvement in illegal online activities, unlawful actions, or violations of individuals’ rights.
Emphasizing transparency and integrity, our proposal aims to build a stronger bond of trust between the police force and the community.
Stricter Qualification and Selection Process
We propose the live-streaming of officer body camera footage to the public. By increasing transparency, we build trust between law enforcement and the community.
Access to this video material, available through the Freedom of Information Act, empowers citizens to hold officers accountable for their actions.
Impartial Citizen Review Boards for Misconduct Cases
To maintain the highest standards of ethics and fairness, we propose an anonymous citizen review board to handle cases of officer misconduct. This unbiased body will ensure that accountability is upheld, promoting trust and confidence in the justice system.
Transparency through Live-streamed Body Camera Footage
We propose the live-streaming of officer body camera footage to the public. By increasing transparency, we build trust between law enforcement and the community.
Access to this video material, available through the Freedom of Information Act, empowers citizens to hold officers accountable for their actions.
Accountability for Officers' Actions
In cases where an officer is convicted or dismissed due to dishonesty or any crime, we advocate for a review of their prior arrests and charges. This ensures that justice is served and reinforces our commitment to integrity and transparency within law enforcement.
Enhanced Training in Legal Knowledge
Our plan calls for increased training in the law for police officers. By deepening their understanding of legal principles, officers will be better equipped to make informed and ethical decisions during encounters with the public.
Nationwide Federal Funding for Police Officers' Independence
We propose nationwide federal funding for grants to officers who choose to distance themselves from unions. This funding can be provided as a bonus or tax break, encouraging officers to prioritize their duty to the community over external influences.
Trained Citizen Auditors
Police officers serve the public. The more trained citizens they interact with, the higher the officer’s quality becomes. This is a crucial aspect of accountability.
We give them badges & Guns...
Some are good, but misconduct is far too common.
Murder
They carry guns and weapons, it’s only reasonable to think that they may have to kill.
The data shows they kill a lot. But in too many cases it’s ruled unjustified.
Child Porn
Nobody should be looking at this stuff. We trust our law enforcers to find and bring to justice anybody who exploits are children.
Unfortunately, there are hundreds of examples of Police Officers taking part.
Rape
Officers have the power to pull you over, enter your house or stop you late at night. Who’d ever think that an Officer may get you, or someone you love in cuffs and then sexually abuse them?
The records show it happens.
Planting Evidence
It happens more than one would think. There’s no clear pattern. If it wasn’t for body cam footage the proof probably wouldn’t exist.
Unfortunately, search the data and you’ll find more than a few examples.
Theft
Stealing from the department, houses they entered, people caught in crimes and a host of other scenarios.
Happens all of the time but more than we know. Search the data.
Drugs & Alcohol
Drinking and drugs while on duty or behind a wheel is not just a lapse of judgement, it’s illegal if a civilian does it, and it’s illegal if a police officer does it.
If judgement is lapsing in one thing, you can bet it’s lapsing in others.
